  6. FINANCIAL NEED

Many of the Bauer College of Business scholarships have a financial need requirement. In order to show financial need, students should complete one of the following forms:

    1. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2013-2014

If you are a U.S. Citizen and permanent resident, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the application.

Even if you have not previously qualified for financial aid, you should complete the FAFSA. The University of Houston urges all eligible students (citizens or permanent residents) to apply for FAFSA. Even if you do not expect to receive Federal funding, many other aid and scholarship programs -- like the Bauer Scholarship Office -- may make use of this data.

    2. If you are an International Student you should complete the Bauer Financial Need Application for International Students here.
This form will be used by Bauer to determine your financial need. Turn in the complete application and all requested materials to the Bauer Scholarship Office. If you do not have all requested documents, please include a letter stating why those items are not available.
This application is similar to the form used for the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) but will not allow you to be considered for that award. If you would like to apply for the TPEG, you must also complete a different form available from the International Student and Scholar Services Office at www.issso.uh.edu/finances/tpegisssoscholarship.html and turn it in to them by their deadline.

You are not required to submit either financial aid document but, if you do not complete the appropriate form above, you will not be considered for any Bauer scholarships that use financial need as a criterion.
